A music-industry veteran with more than a decade of professional production experience and a Commercial Music degree from Point Loma Nazarene University, he brings the audio craft of professional music to evidence-based clinical neuroscience.

Sacramento Roots

Ryan grew up in Sacramento, drawn early to sound — how it shaped attention, mood, and the way people felt in a room. Music became the language he kept returning to, long before it became a career.

Point Loma

Ryan moved to San Diego to study Commercial Music at Point Loma Nazarene University, earning his Bachelor of Arts. The program gave him the technical foundation to match the instinct — production craft, audio engineering, and the discipline behind professional sound.

The Music Years

Over the last decade, Ryan worked across the music industry as a producer and audio professional, sharpening the precision that only comes from years inside the craft. The work also revealed something deeper: sound, done well, didn't just move people — it changed how they felt and how they functioned.

Founding Sophros

That insight became Sophros. Ryan founded the company to bring the audio craft of professional music into clinical neuroscience, developing Rhythmic Audio Training (RAT) — a proprietary protocol that uses precision rhythmic auditory cueing to regulate the nervous system during rehabilitation. RAT is now in clinical use with partners on both coasts.
